Sometimes I go all day without thinking much of my needs. After all, I have four kids, one husband and a dog that constantly needs attention. I definitely believe this season with small children is a hard one. Maybe because I'm in it, and at moments I feel like I'm drowning. Late at night after I finally have my littles in bed, I practically crawl into bed myself with the day's grit still on my face.
My skin care routine has been anything but routine my whole life. In my younger years I could go to bed with make-up on and it wouldn't really affect me much. But now, I'm older and my skin is starting to show it. I'm super self-conscience about a sunspot on my face and the redness around my nose seems worse. I've known for a few months I needed to find a good skin care line. I've used a combination of olive oil and caster oil as a face wash and coconut oil as moisturizer on and off for years. It's a great inexpensive natural way to take care of your face but it wasn't improving my skin. I wanted something that would have more benefits but not added chemicals. That was after all the main reason I was using a blend I had made and not something I had bought at the store.
I had heard about Beautycounter a year ago and it's been on my radar ever since. But it wasn't until a month ago that I tried it for the first time. I loved it. Just 3 days into it I saw improvements in my skin. So much softer and smoother. And the best part (besides good skin)? You know what you're getting. You're not getting toxins that have been linked to cancer among other things.
I know, the price. We are a one income family and I understand tight budgets. For many of us as housewives we have very limited funds. So this is what I'm going to do. Start small. One thing at a time. Replace your cleanser or lotion. Or if you already have a natural way to clean your skin start replacing your cosmetics. Or, start replacing the products you have for your children (shampoo, body wash, sunscreen). Changing your life doesn't usually happen overnight. We have to start one step at a time. To browse or buy, visit Beautycounter*. Or if you have questions you can send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org.
